Police in Kampong Thom province are urgently seeking the driver of a bus after a heartbreaking incident unfolded at the Kolbot Panha International School. A four-year-old boy, identified as Yom Raya, tragically suffocated to death after being trapped in the bus for four agonizing hours.
Authorities disclosed that the devastating event occurred on the evening of February 5, 2024, in Prey Preal (A) Village, Trapeang Russey Commune. The victim, Yom Raya, hails from Trach village, Tbeng commune, Kampong Svay district, and was a student at the private institution managed by Chhit Sophoan and his wife Long Sineth.
According to reports, Long Sineth, the driver of the bus and wife of the school owner, had transported the children to school as usual at 1 pm. However, tragedy struck when Yom Raya inadvertently became trapped on the bus, and his absence went unnoticed by the school staff throughout the day.
