In an upcoming maritime spectacle, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) is set to make waves as two of its formidable vessels, the Shimakaze (TV-3521) and Suzunami (DD-114), chart a course to Cambodia for a cadet training cruise.

"The cruise aims to provide cadets with on-the-job training opportunities, and cultivate the qualities required of officers," expressed the JMSDF in a recent press release.

Embarking on this training voyage, the JMSDF seeks to fortify cadets' skills through hands-on experiences while instilling the ethos of leadership and professionalism. This mission extends beyond borders, fostering an international outlook as the ships navigate the South China Sea.

As ambassadors of goodwill, the Shimakaze and Suzunami are poised to strengthen diplomatic ties by visiting Cambodia, Brunei, and Vietnam. Their presence underscores Japan's commitment to a 'Free and Open Indo-Pacific,' promoting peace and cooperation among nations.

Leading the fleet is the Shimakaze, a formidable Hatekaze-class guided missile cruiser, embodying Japan's cutting-edge maritime capabilities. Alongside, the Suzunami, a Takanami-class destroyer, stands as a testament to Japan's maritime prowess and commitment to regional security.
