In a groundbreaking initiative, the Governor of Kampong Cham Province, Mr. Un Chanda, spearheaded a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing construction activities on February 5, 2024. The focus of the visit was the development of an expansive landfill project situated in the heart of Koh Roka village, Koh Roka commune, Kampong Siem district, within the Kampong Cham province.
Led by Construction Manager Mr. Sem Chanda, the visionary landfill project spans a vast 8.13 hectares, encompassing a 1.3-hectare landfill and the integration of four cutting-edge wastewater treatment plants. Noteworthy features include a meticulously crafted 2,000-meter-long access road leading to the landfill and an additional 1,000-meter-long concrete road within the premises. The site will host temporary structures such as hazardous waste storage buildings, power and water supply facilities, car wash stations, composting pits, hazardous waste containment units, and solar panels.
Acknowledging the significance of this environmentally impactful endeavor, Mr. Sem Chanda proudly revealed that the project is entrusted to the capable hands of BM. Construction and Electric Co., Ltd. The construction timeline is set at a commendable 17 months, with groundbreaking commencing on January 5, 2024, and a targeted completion date of May 28, 2025.
