PM Hun Manet to Lead Delegation for Investment Talks in Australia

Speaking at the annual Ministry of Labour meeting on February 8, 2024, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet revealed plans for a crucial diplomatic and economic mission. In March 2024, he will personally lead a delegation to Australia with the aim of fostering investment opportunities.

PM Hun Manet emphasized his global outreach efforts, highlighting his success in attracting investments from various continents. His upcoming visit to Australia underscores Cambodia's commitment to expanding its economic ties beyond traditional boundaries.

Explaining the significance of attracting investments, PM Hun Manet elucidated its role in showcasing Cambodia's potential to foreign investors. Emphasizing the collaborative approach of the Royal Government of Cambodia, PM Hun Manet stressed the importance of various stakeholders in driving economic development. Civil servants, NGOs, self-employed individuals, and the private sector all play pivotal roles in creating sustainable job opportunities and fueling Cambodia's economy.

To attract more investments and bolster the private sector, PM Hun Manet emphasized the need for concerted efforts to generate employment opportunities. With recent successes in attracting investments, including significant partnerships with Thailand, Cambodia is poised for further economic growth and job creation.

Since assuming office in August 2023, PM Hun Manet has spearheaded numerous projects, attracting substantial investments and creating thousands of job opportunities. With a focus on promoting economic growth, his administration remains committed to advancing Cambodia's development agenda.

Highlighting recent achievements, PM Hun Manet noted the approval of 32 projects by the Council for the Development of Cambodia in January 2024. With an investment capital of nearly $200 million, these projects signify a positive trajectory for Cambodia's economic landscape.
