Speaking at the inaugural Digital Government Forum and Digital Technology Expo, Minister of Posts and Telecommunication, Chea Vandeth, underscored the government's dedication to embracing this cutting-edge technology.
"Harnessing the power of 5G is a pivotal priority for Cambodia's digital infrastructure development," emphasized Minister Vandeth during the event held at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Highlighting the significance of timely implementation, Vandeth affirmed that Cambodia is poised to introduce 5G technology at the opportune moment. The ministry is diligently crafting policies to allocate the necessary 100 MHz spectrum to facilitate the seamless operation of the 5G network across all telecommunications operators.

Prime Minister Hun Manet lauded the nation's strides in digitalization, citing the COVID-19 pandemic as a catalyst for accelerated technological adoption. Manet emphasized the pivotal role played by digital payments, which surged to approximately $492 billion by 2023, a figure dwarfing the country's Gross Domestic Product.
