Ministry of Information Emphasizes Professionalism in Content Creation

In a recent address, Minister of Information, Neth Pheaktra, underscored the importance of upholding professional ethics in content production. He urged journalists, bloggers, and online marketers to prioritize quality over mere popularity, cautioning against the dissemination of false information for the sake of likes and shares.

Pheaktra emphasized the need for advertisements to maintain professionalism, respect privacy, and refrain from spreading misinformation that could jeopardize public safety or incite unrest. Speaking at the launch ceremony of media company Influence Media, he stressed the responsibility of content creators in shaping a positive narrative about Cambodia.

Expressing optimism about the creative potential of video and blog content producers, Pheaktra urged them to showcase the beauty and reality of Cambodia accurately. He highlighted the Ministry of Information's support for diverse media outlets, recognizing their role in disseminating timely and accurate information to the public.

With over 2,000 registered media outlets in Cambodia, Pheaktra emphasized the significance of these platforms in shaping the country's media landscape. He acknowledged the influence of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, stressing the need for responsible content dissemination in the digital age.

Ministry of Information spokesman, Tep Asnarith, echoed Pheaktra's sentiments, warning against the proliferation of fake information online. Asnarith emphasized the importance of neutralizing false information with factual content, calling for collaborative efforts to promote the dissemination of accurate information.

Acknowledging the crucial role of citizens in combating misinformation, Asnarith urged social media users to share reliable information within their communities. By prioritizing quality content, individuals can contribute to preventing the spread of false information and fostering a more informed society.

As Cambodia continues to navigate the digital landscape, the Ministry of Information remains committed to upholding professional standards in content creation. Through collaboration between media outlets, content creators, and citizens, efforts to combat misinformation and promote factual content can lead to a more informed and empowered society.
