CoolApp: Cambodia's Rising Star in Social Networking

Following the official announcement on June 21, 2024, by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, CoolApp has soared in popularity. As of July 4, 2024, the social networking chat platform has reached 200,000 downloads across the App Store and Play Store, with nearly 15,000 additional downloads on computers. This achievement has propelled CoolApp to the top rank as the most downloaded social networking chat app in Cambodia.

Various ministries, hospitals, governmental institutions, and private companies nationwide are gradually adopting CoolApp for their communication needs. The app facilitates the sending of messages, images, videos, and even voice and video calls. Mr. Lim Cheavutha, the founder and CEO of CoolApp, assures users that the app will continue to receive updates to enhance user experience and satisfaction. He emphasizes that CoolApp does not track, collect, or store user data and employs end-to-end encryption to ensure maximum security for data and calls.

International media giants like CNN and numerous other global news outlets have reported on Cambodia's CoolApp, boosting its international recognition. Nearly 20 digital media networks have featured CoolApp, highlighting Cambodia's growing presence on the global stage.

CoolApp stands out as Cambodia's first social networking chat platform to meet international standards similar to Telegram and WhatsApp. Developed by a team of Cambodian IT experts, CoolApp has been in the making for over three years, from 2021 to its recent launch in 2024.

CoolApp boasts a variety of features, including chat, voice calls, and video calls, all adhering to international standards. Data and call security is ensured through encryption, and the use of local internet infrastructure (DIX) enhances call clarity and rapid transmission of images and videos. Unlike other apps, CoolApp’s data does not travel outside the country, ensuring high-speed communication.

In the ASEAN region, only two countries have their own social networking chat platforms: Vietnam with Zalo and Cambodia with CoolApp. While Laos has its G-Chat application, it is primarily used by government officials rather than the general public.

CoolApp is a source of national pride for Cambodia, representing a significant achievement as the first locally developed and widely used social networking app within the country.
