Firstly, the committee approved the appointment of Lok Chumteav Yos Tha Neary to represent Kampong Thom Province as a Member of Parliament. She is set to replace the late HE Chea Chanto, who served with distinction before his recent passing. This decision underscores the continued commitment to fulfilling the mandate of the 7th National Assembly and upholding effective representation.

Additionally, the committee addressed a draft law related to the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle, focusing on trade facilitation and policy harmonization. This law involves the Agreement on the Promotion and Facilitation of Trade within this development region. To ensure a comprehensive review, the proposal will be sent to the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information, working in collaboration with the Commission on Legislation and Justice. This review process will also engage the National Committee on Public Transport, Civil Aviation, Post, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mining, Energy, Trade, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, all of which are essential to Cambodia’s economic and infrastructural development.

The committee’s deliberations reflect a broad commitment to fostering regional trade cooperation and maintaining a responsive, representative assembly.
