The National Airlines of Cambodia (NAC) and Henan Investment Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on November 1, 2024, in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China. The agreement, overseen by Dr. Mao Hovanal, Minister in Charge of the Secretariat of Civil Aviation, aims to strengthen air transport between the two countries.

He emphasized the alignment of this initiative with the vision of the China Aviation Economic Forum, which seeks to connect Henan to ASEAN through Cambodia. Cambodia, in this context, serves as a crucial air transport bridge for tourism between ASEAN and Henan, as well as a gateway for Henan to the broader ASEAN region.
Dr. Mao Havnall underscored the importance of strengthening civil aviation relations between Cambodia and China, especially between Cambodia and Henan Province. He expressed the nation's desire for technical and financial support from the Henan Provincial Administration to bolster the National Airlines' sustainable development.
To further solidify the historical ties between Cambodia and Henan Province, the Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to establish a Cambodian Consulate General in Henan Province.
Dr. Mao Havanal congratulated both Henan Investment Group and NAC on the signing of the MOU, recognizing its significance beyond mere business cooperation. He emphasized that the agreement would contribute to strengthening political and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
